Enterprise security and employee productivity are often at odds, and nowhere is this dynamic more apparent than on the issue of employee smartphones. While enterprise security professionals may balk at allowing these devices into workspaces where intellectual property (IP) or sensitive customer data can be easily captured — intentionally or not — via smartphone cameras and microphones, the reality is that most employees rely on their smartphones throughout their workday to do their jobs and keep tabs on personal matters.
